Start with a sacred pause. That’s the invitation as we step across a threshold and retire “That Mystic” to stand fully in our name and our calling. We share why the mystic isn’t a costume but the beating heart of an ordinary, embodied life—the woman who cooks, grieves, works, and still hears what moves beneath words. From months of deep contemplation and the searing clarity of personal loss, we name the new container: When Women Awaken.

We explore how grief can be a teacher that breaks us open rather than breaks us down, and how awakening often begins when old stories no longer fit. Joya speaks to living through trauma, the shattering of identity, and the slow, real work of trusting what your body and spirit already know. We talk about sensitivity as strength, intuition as data, and compassion as power, reframing the nervous system not as a problem to fix but a wise guide that learns safety from the inside out. The episode also honors the Magdalene lineage—courage, witness, and embodiment—as a living current for those ready to love and rise without asking permission.

If you’ve felt restless, called, or quietly unsure who you are becoming, this conversation offers language, presence, and a way forward. You’ll hear why this space centers women and the divine feminine, how awakening ripples across lineage and land, and what it means to become a transmitter—where heaven and earth meet in you. We close with a clear timeline for the final “That Mystic” release and the launch of When Women Awaken, inviting you to step with us into a season of luminous honesty and deeper trust.

If this speaks to you, follow the show, share it with a friend who’s on the edge of change, and leave a review so more women can find their way here. Your story matters. Your body knows. Let’s awaken together.

Owning My Name And Rebrand

SPEAKER_00

Hello, beloved lights and souls. I'm your host, Joya, and I'm here to make an announcement about that Mystic Podcast that I am rebranding again. I've decided, actually, I haven't decided, it's just emerged naturally over the last eight weeks, nine weeks here as I've been in deep contemplation, as many of you have, to step fully into my name and to own my name. So I'm rebranding under my name with my website and what I'm doing. And it's just really beautiful and stepping into exactly the work that I came here to do as a soul on earth. And it is rebirthing women into someone luminous after life changes everything. It's in complete alignment with my right angle cross of the sleeping phoenix and so many other things that have lined up. And if you've been with me over the last year since my son multidimensionally transitioned, I've shared in real time what I've gone through in this grief journey, this mystical grief journey, and the profound insights and awakenings and learning how to really deeply, deeply trust myself. And so the new podcast is going to be called When Women Awaken. I want to create a space, a place, a listening experience where you experience a sacred pause in your life. A place where the old stories about who you thought you were can finally come to rest. And I want to share stories and people and guests and women sharing something really deeper, something luminous to spark that resonance within you. Through my own childhood trauma, my living on the streets as a teenage runaway, my suicide attempt when I was only twenty-one, and healing from all of that, only to step into the ultimate shattering and breaking open of my heart. But it was through my own shattering, my own resurrection, that I began to really awaken into the woman that I was always meant to be, the woman that I truly am. And what I know now, what I've witnessed in the women that I've just begun to work with in this capacity, and the women that I worked with before is that I've always really cared about women awakening. And not because women are better than men. That's not it at all. But because when a woman awakens, the world literally shifts. And there is something happening in our world right now, and women everywhere are feeling it. There's a restlessness, a feeling, a knowing that we are being called into something greater. And men too are waking up, the divine feminine energy within them, getting softer, getting in touch with their emotional side. I've witnessed this also with men who were like, what is happening to me? It is not a coincidence that you're listening to these words right now. So I adopted the moniker that mystic because when I was talking with my branding coach back in, I don't know, before I should have been, when I wasn't ready, he was like, You need to just own your name and be known as you. And I was like, Yeah, but nobody could spell my last name. And yeah, but, yeah, but, yeah, but, which was really just my nervous system saying, I'm not ready. I'm not ready for that. I'm not ready to be completely seen. I'm not ready to completely own who I am and what I do. And so I adopted the moniker, that mystic joya, as a descriptor. And while that name definitely holds beauty and truth, it also held a kind of distance, as if the mystical was something separate from the woman who makes breakfast, who worries, who wants to work, who feels the weight of the world in her nervous system. But here's what I'm learning The Mystic is the woman. The sacred is the human. And when we try to separate them, we lose the very power that we've been seeking. So I am stepping forward with my name, Joya. The woman who has walked through the fire and found herself freaking luminous on the other side, glowing through those embers. The woman who knows what it means to lose everything that you thought you were, and discover who you actually are through that burning away. When women awaken, it's not just the name of a sacred container that we're going to create together. I want it to be a transmission. Because it's what happens when we stop apologizing for the depth of what we feel, the clarity of what we know, the power of what moves through us, and the cosmic mother. Because what I understand about women is that our nervous systems are different. And that's why I don't work with men. When I get asked all the time, will you coach me? Will you work with me? When it's men, I always say, No, I don't work with men. And it's just not what I'm called to do because I love my sacred sisters. I love working with women because I love the cosmic mother. I love the divine feminine. And I'm here to help rebirth her into the frequency of this planet as a way shower that I was born to be. Women are wired for connection, for intuition, for receiving the subtle frequencies that others can't perceive. We feel and carry the collective pain and the collective possibility in our very bones. And in a world that has taught us to see our sensitivity, our intuition, our empathic natures, our compassionate nature as weakness, I'm gonna say no BS, man. It is our greatest strength. I am bound, and I now honor and devote myself to the Magdalene lineage, the lineage of the woman who knew, who witnessed, who held the deepest mysteries, not as just ideas, but as truths, she lived and embodied, and she became a frequency, transmitting grace into the field of this planet. She didn't go seeking permission to love fully, to frickin' grieve as deeply as she did, and to rise luminous. She was herself. And in that being, through that being of being herself, the authentic self, she awakened others. And that's what the cosmic mother knows: that every woman who remembers herself, who trusts what moves through her, who allows her grief to crack her open into even greater love, becomes a doorway. She's a transmitter. And she is literally a tower, which is what Magdalene means. Where heaven and earth meet and touch and transmit through. When women awaken, we don't just heal ourselves. We heal our lineage behind us and the generations ahead of us. We heal Mother Earth herself because we remember what we have always known. We are not separate from the sacred. We are the sacred, breathing, feeling, and choosing love even when love breaks us open. So whether you're in the middle of your own shattering or in the quiet space of wondering who you're becoming, or you're feeling the first stirring of something luminous that's birthing through you, that is what this podcast is going to be about. And I want to give you an invitation to stop waiting for permission to give yourself a sense of safety inside of yourself, to practice profound self-acceptance and self-love that will let your nervous system know that it is safe to start trusting what you already know. There will be one more episode of that mystic podcast, and it is an interview that I did back in December. And then after that, we are rebranding to when women awaken. And I am ready for this next chapter of my life, this next chapter of what's unfolding on this beautiful planet of ours. This next chapter of the incredible women who have been showing up in my life, and this next chapter of you. Thanks for listening, beloved. I will be back next week with my first episode of When Women Awaken. Until then, be blessed.
